After a few false starts, we are finally leaving home, and heading on our much-anticipated trip to Western Australia. We woke at 5.30am but a after a couple of visitors and picking up a few last minute supplies (Dan Murphys etc) we leave town at about 10.30am.
Our plan this year sees us heading in the shortest route to Ceduna, SA, and then slowing down to more of a tourist mode, across the Nullarbor and explore the South West corner of Western Australia. Meet Rod & Michelle in Perth for Rachels Birthday, with them we will visit Rotness Island, Travel in a convoy up to Exmouth, and swim with the whale sharks. A week later we catch up with Shane and Kel in Bali, should all be really good fun. After Bali, we plan to continue traveling north up the WA coast.
At the end of our first day we pulled into Goondiwindi, only to find that our fuel filter had developed a crack in it and was squirting diesel everywhere, like the sides of MIA were covered, Franky was as well, somewhat of a mess, and a growing puddle underneath MIA where we stopped. Fortunately for us our friends at Gold Coast Isuzu called a local agent and got everything sorted out.
