Because Frank had a hole in the radiator, we needed to bring MIA all the way out to Lawn Hill, the road from Gregory Downs to here was not as bad yesterday, but still pretty bad.
There was however light at the end of the tunnel, this is where carting the kayak all over the country pays off, the hire canoes had closed for the day, we had the gorge to ourselves, it was beautiful. We got to just float along the calm water admiring the abundant supply of fish and turtles, and of course the gorge itself.
We wanted to stay here for a few days but unfortunately the weather forecast was for some very heavy rain. The ranger explained to us that after heavy rain, so that they can preserve the integrity of the road, they would close it probably for a couple of days, and since we are such a heavy vehicle maybe longer for us. They gave us an ultimatum, get out before the rain comes or be prepared to stay for a while. due to the unkown time frames, we reluctantly chose to leave.
