We came back to Esperance after our stay at Cape Le Grand, we have been hoping for a clear sunny and non-windy day so that we could maybe spend some time on one of the west coast beaches, just being at the beach. Never mind, perhaps later, the weather is overcast and the constant and sometimes gusty breeze form the Antarctic is a bit chilly. We did our shopping and headed further along the coast.

It’s a bit interesting along this coast, the main Highway is probably about 50kms or so in from the coast, and then little feeder roads go into the coastal communities from this main road, but they don’t seem to have a coast road that connects them directly. So, to go to one of these towns, you need to decide to turn off and drive 30 minutes or so to the town, and then back again on the same road to get back to the main road to continue.
That being said we decided to detour off the main road and visit Hopetoun, we arrived in the afternoon and caught up on some bookwork and stuff. The next morning (27/09/2019) we decided to go for a drive through the adjoining National park (Fitzgerald National Park) before leaving.

What a treat, we spent the whole day enjoying this park, going on short walks in the bush, to lookouts and the beach, we even had a swim. It turned out to be a really great day and completely unplanned.
