Herron Point

20/04/2019

Herron Point is a council owned camp ground right beside an inlet, you are not able to book a site here, sites are allocated on a first in best dressed basis, with a maximum stay of 4 days. We arrived on Thursday hoping that we would beat the crowds and get a good site. Our plan worked perfectly we have scored a great spot and it only costs $15 per night, perfect.

The weather on Thursday was beautiful, we got to see Dolphins swimming by in the water and spent some time at the beach (calm water). The weather blew up in the night as forecast and was miserable windy, rainy for all of Friday. It is now Saturday, the Sun is out , still a little cool in the shade. Out of 25 sites I think there are only 10 sites taken, we think the weather has kept most people away. The great part is that with such a small group we almost know everyone’s names and most of us come together for a communal fire at night, its good fun, a little cool though. Thank Goodness MIA has a heater.
