We came over to Rottnest Island yesterday on the ferry, the weather was forecast to be raining and windy. Fortunately for us there was no rain, the overcast conditions though made our unplanned adventure to the lighthouse cooler to handle.
We didn’t realise that it would take 3 hours for our bags to get from the jetty to our room, which was probably 300 metres away. This resulted in Rachel & Michelle doing our 10 ++ km walk to the lighthouse in their pretty shoes, rather than joggers. Michelle had a blowout and did most of the walk in bare feet, and Rachel earned a few nasty blisters.
The Quokkas is what we are really here to see, we had been lead to believe that they are scarce and that perhaps we would be lucky if we saw one, well they are everywhere. It was great fun interacting with them.
