We have spent the last 3 nights up at Eungella National Park (1hr west of Mackay), we were able to camp within the national park paying normal NP rates. Getting up the steep range was a slow old crawl but MIA just wanted to take it easy, Frank was happy to oblige so we all just sat back and enjoyed the scenery as we slowly joined the clouds, fortunately there wasn’t any other traffic.
For the 3 days that we stayed at Eungella we saw several Platypus & Turtles in the wild, which was pretty special and there was only 2 or 3 other people that we had to share with. We had our first campfire casserole for this trip on Sunday, yum yum, they are always different but definitely always excellent.
There is no mobile signal however the people at the info centre happily share their WiFi Password, so a short 200 metre walk and we were able to check messages.
